I want to try all natural treatment for pain and insomnia?
I don’t have insurance, my husband has been unemployed for over a year(no work here), I have muscle pain, muscle cramping, shingles, joint pain, and I can’t sleep many nights, I am up in the shower, it seems to ease the pain.

admin answers:
Try red onion wine (I know it sounds disgusting, but it works).
Cut up 3 red onions into 8 equal pieces and place them in a clean jar. Pour in one bottle of red wine. Let it sit for a week.
After a week, drain the wine into another jar and refrigerate it. Keep the onions. Drink 50 mL of the wine twice a day and eat a few pieces of the onion.
The wine helps with joint pain, sleeping disorders, overactive bladders, and it can lower blood pressure and blood sugar. It also prevents cancer and contains antioxidants, vitamins, and has medicinal properties.

Can the singles treatment Valtrex be taken with the pain medication Aleve?
Are there any adverse drug interactions?
What about Valtrex and Tylenol?
I’ve got a headache and want to take something but this freaking shingles treatment gets me worried about drug interaction.

admin answers:
I’m not a doctor or pharmacist, but I went to the site below. It listed no interactions between Valtrex and Aleve. It only gave an extra warning about Tylenol and alcohol/food, which you know about anyway. Besides, you don’t drink.
You can also call your local 24 hour pharmacy — they’ll answer your questions about that, even if you aren’t a customer. If you have insurance, sometimes they have an advice line for things like that — I’ve used such lines before and been pleasantly surprised.

Treatment for Shingles?
I’m looking for individuals that have or have had a bad bout of Shingles. I know that they are a result of childhood chicken pox which comes from the zoster virus. After almost 10 days of excurciating pain I was finally told what I had when the “rash” associated with the disease finally appeared on my skin. If people could share their experiences and the treatments given, I would be very thankfull.
The ER doctor prescribed Percocets for the pain which helps and 2 very good drugs I’m told. Famciclovir and Lyrica. The druggist told me those drugs are the best anyone doctor could offer to me!
My Shingles are on my upper thigh area and right side of my waist. The pain extends from the right testical to around the side of my back (waist area)

admin answers:
Pfizer has a new medication, called lyrica, that is a cousin of neurontin and a little more benign, that can be used for pain caused by shingles. An Antiviral given early enough may help. When I rotated through the ER, anybody who came in with shingles got the good stuff (narcotics), no questions asked, unless they had a past history of abuse.

What are the treatments for post herptic neuropathy and the shingles virus entering the optic nerve?
I had a wonderful case of shingles this spring that covered my right forehead & scalp down to my right eye.
After giving me a prescription for anit-viral drugs, I demanded something at least to help with the intense itching & sensation of being attacked by millions of stabbing pins. My doc gave me an allergy drug – he is very conservative on pain medications. He did insist I go to an eye doc to make sure the virus hadn’t entered my optice nerve. Is going to the eye doc & no pain meds standard procedure?

admin answers:
I would think pain meds approp definate get another opinion if optic nerve involved possible meds, can help or even laser treatment
