Can Glutathione Prevent Disease?

Can Glutathione Prevent Disease?

Yet I would be willing to wager that you simply haven’t even heard of the word “Glutathione” prior to, in no way mind knowing what it’s and also the role it plays in any dis-eased condition.

That’s about to change and this little powerhouse of an amino acid is about to become headline news. New study has shown that each and every cell requirements glutathione to operate at peak performance. That implies that finding the answers to chronic problems is that much easier. It would make sense to me that the starting point would be to make sure that the body had an adequate supply of glutathione.

Ah, but there is a catch……which is one from the reasons that till now, you and I have not heard too significantly about this awesome small antioxidant.

The catch is this: the body is the only place that can make a sufficient sufficient supply. Glutathione supplements don’t produce glutathione in the body. This amino acid is a protein and the body merely digests the protein when taken by pill form.

The other way is to have glutathione injections. They are costly, and several are needed each week to improve and maintain enough therapeutic levels of glutathione.

In order for the body to create glutathione, it needs a precursor. A easy definition of a precursor is “two or a lot more different compounds that form into an additional compound.” An example of a glutathione precursor is asparagus and watermelon. Something in each of them combines to make glutathione that the body cannot merely digest upon eating and which can then be transported to the cells.

A few have tried to combine different proteins and have been able to make a supplement that can improve the body’s levels up to 30%. This is great news.

Even better news is that a single team, led by Dr. Robert Keller, found a way for your body to create glutathione that increases the amounts up to 290% in as little as 3 months or less. A healthy young individual has those kinds of amounts of glutathione, but tension and age related conditions trigger the amounts to decrease.

]]>

What this means for that wellness of the cells can only be imagined. Wholesome cells make for healthy bodies which make for wholesome relationships and a healthier world. The law of quantum physics implies that as it’s with the smallest of all creation is exactly the same in the largest. As within, so without

When Dr. Keller saw the amazing results of Glutathione, he applied for a “Composition of Matter” patent which may be the highest level of patents available – the same kind that protect a pharmaceutical drug from being copied. It also implies that no other organization or individual can take any of the elements and combine them any other way.

What this implies for a business can only be imagined. A proprietary product that’s only available at a single location and that is required for that proper function of every and every cell.

Dr. Keller could have set up a traditional organization where he made most the profits. He chose to set it up as a network so that you and I could have a chance to market this product. Imagine a house based company that had a product that could trigger you and your family to enjoy a level of health you’ve in no way known AND make money at the same time so you could have time and financial freedom.

So Google your specific health challenges. So far, articles and medical abstracts have linked the following problems to having low amounts of glutathione:

• Angina / Addictions / Alcoholism / Anemia / ADL / Autism / ADD / ADHD
• Asthma / Alzheimer’s / Arthritis / Age associated hormonal declines
• Acne / Atopic dermatitis /Auto immune disease
• Arteriosclerosis (hardening from the arteries)
• Bipolar disease / Behcet’s Syndrome / Blood disorders
• Burns / Buerger’s disease Bronchitis
• Cancer (specifically from the liver) / Cataracts / Cachexia
• Candida / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome / Cardiomyopathy

• Emphysema (COPD) / Endothelial dysfunction

• Goodpasture Syndrome / Grave’s disease
• Heart Attacks (and positive stress tests) and Reperfusion after cardiac bypass surgery
• Hepatitis A, B, and C / Huntington’s chorea / Hypercholesterolemia
• HIV / Herpes simplex / Herpes zoster (shingles) / Heavy metal poisoning
• Infections (bacterial, viral and fungal)
• Inflammation / IBD (Inflammatory bowel disease)
• Infertility / Influenza and Bird Flu
• Leukemia (acute and chronic) / Lymphoma
• Lou Gehrig’s disease / Lupus
• Migraine headaches / Muscle wasting in COPD
• Multiple Sclerosis (MS) / Miscarriages / Meniere’s disease
• Macular Degeneration / Malnutrition / Myasthenia Gravis
• Neurogenerative diseases / Obesity
• PMS (Pre Menstrual Syndrome) / Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)
• Parkinson’s disease / Pemphigus Vulgaris
• Polycystic kidney disease / Primary Billary Cirrhosis
• Psoriasis / Progeria
• Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) / Rheumatic Fever
• Schizophrenia / Sarcoidosis
• Stroke / Shingles / Scleroderma

Lower Back Pain | Causes, Symptoms and Treatment for Lower Back Pain

Lower back pain or lumbago affects more than 80% of the people at some stage of life and can be very bothering. No specific reason can be assigned for this disease and the pain can be chronic, moderate and acute. This musculoskeletal disorder impedes free movement of an individual and the serious cases often demand total bed rest. The symptoms sometimes persist for a week and subside and may relapse after a gap of few weeks or months.

Symptoms

The following symptoms are the indications of Lower back pain –

1. Pain in back while bending, moving and walking.
2. The pain is felt in the buttocks and pains that can last for 48 to 72 hours.
3. Often the pain may extend below the knee to the foot and ankle.
4. Pain felt while sneezing and coughing.
5. Stiffness in the back and the hip muscles.

Causes

Though back pains don’t have any specific cause but some underlying reasons can be:

1. Any injury to the back muscles, spine and back bone that can result in this problem.
2. Abnormal functioning of the abdominal organs.
3. Pressure on the nerve roots or Sciatica is another factor.

]]>

4. Degeneration of the spinal discs.
5. Spondylosis, Fibromylagia and Osteomyelitis are other causes of lower backache.
6. Even smoking can cause lower backache.

Treatment

In case of moderate and sub acute back pains some self care treatments and medications are enough to cure the disorder but in chronic cases regular exercises with due precautions must be carried to keep the pain in check.

1. Sleeping with pillows in between the knees or sleeping lying on the back with knees resting on the pillow gives some comfort and so are often recommended by doctors.

2. Exercises are beneficial for chronic back pain as it improves the blood circulation in the muscles.

3. Some backache may require long bed rest depending upon the severity of the pain.

4. Painkillers like ibuprofen and acetaminophen are prescribed to relieve the back pain.

5. Application of heat and ice packs are also found to be beneficial in some cases.

6. Application of a pack of black mustard seeds produces intense heat that lowers the back pain.

Read about Home Remedies for Backache .

Low back pain symptoms are sometimes just bothersome, such as dull aches or tenderness, but can be severe in some cases. That’s why you need to be able to target the pain, learn about the symptoms that you’re experiencing, and know when you need to see a doctor and when you can just wait it out to see if it goes away. In some cases, symptoms can even seem like they’re related to low back pain but be the root of a different problem, such as when you have kidney problems or shingles, which is common in older adults.

Make sure that you are aware of where the acute pain is, what symptoms accompany it, and how severe it is. You never want to assume that it’s just a sore muscle when the pain is too much to bear, because this could lead to prolonged injury, permanent damage, or even severe illness because you didn’t recognize that it wasn’t actually back pain at all. Keep these things in mind when checking out your symptoms and you’ll be better prepared.

Your Questions About Shingles

Richard asks…

How contagious is shingles? I heard the virus is basically only in the rash area, is that true?

Can it be passed through saliva or touch or that sort of thing?
Yeah, I know it’s in the same class as the herpes virus but that’s the only similarity.

admin answers:

It is a strain of the chicken pox virus, so it is just a contagious as that. But it is unlikely that someone will get it. It is more likely to transfer to someone that has not had the chicken pox or the vaccination.

Michael asks…

Is shingles contagious? What are the chances of me getting it if one of my parents has it?

admin answers:

Yes it very contagious and painful . It is in the Herpes Zoster category and any herpes is contagious until it dries up. You need medical attention. If anyone touches you where you have it or even on towels and such, they can’t get it. Get treated.

Paul asks…

In what cases is shingles contagious?

We just found out that my brother has shingles, and the doctor said it isn’t contagious, but websites list is as contagious. Is it only contagious if you haven’t had chicken pox before? I’m just a little confused about all this…

admin answers:

I had shingles before and i went to doctor and the first day i took meds i started getting better and within 3 days totally gone
stop worrying trust me stop worrying

William asks…

How long will my Shingles last and be contagious to people who have not had Chicken Pox?

I was recently diagnosed with shingles. It is extremely painful and I can barely function. They started me on Valtrex yesterday. My problem is that I am due with a baby is 2 1/2 WEEKS. The Doctor said that if my Shingles are not gone then my baby will get chicken pox. Does anyone know how long it should take to go away with my Valtrex. I am so worried. Thanks in advance.

admin answers:

I am sorry you have to deal with this when you are pregnant I am sure it is very scary for you, and Lord knows it is extremely painful!
If you have to have Shingles or Chicken Pox while pregnant, you are in the better of the time periods right now. Before 30 weeks there is a chance of birth defects, if acquired just before birth it can cause very serious complications. If acquired during this time period your body has a couple of weeks to deal with the virus and to help protect your baby, and that is what it will attempt to do. In the next couple of weeks your body will build up what they call antibodies. These antibodies will be passed on to the baby and will help the baby deal with the virus should it still be present at the time of birth. They say that if you have an outbreak of shingles or Chicken Pox 5 – 21 days prior to birth then you will have the opportunity to build up these needed antibodies anything more than 21 days and I suppose you clear the virus and anything less than 5 days does not allow for you to build up the needed antibodies. You are so close to the far end of this time table with 2 1/2 weeks to go. If I were you I would feel more comfortable than not. Combined with the fact that you are on the anti-viral drugs, I would try to relax and enjoy the last couple of weeks of your pregnancy. Try to make a calm and nurturing environment for you and your unborn baby. Do not feel like you have to be superwoman! Do what you have to do to make yourself comfortable physically and this includes taking your medication. Your child is mostly developed, so if you need something for the pain take it. Your doctor will not prescribe anything that will harm you or your baby so if he says it is OK to take then by all means take it. Listen to what your doctor has to say. He will be honest with you. He/ she will tell you up front of the potential complications of this situation. They are not in the habit of sugar coating or lying about important issues such as this.If you have questions make sure you ask, and if you feel that you can’t get his/her attention, make sure to demand it!
Good luck.

George asks…

Is shingles contagious and unsafe for pregnant ladies?

my daughter is 6 months pregnant and we just found out her older brother who doesnt live with us has shingles,,,should he avoid contact with her?

admin answers:

Shingles is a form of the herpes virus, so yes, it is contagious. However it is easy to take precautions. As long as she doesn’t come in contact with his weeping wounds, she should be safe. That is, have her avoid doing his wash or his linens, and avoid physical contact unless she is wearing gloves. If she must handle him, have her wash her hands afterwards.

Who is Most Likely to Develop Chickenpox?

Who is Most Likely to Develop Chickenpox?

Studies have concluded that 75% to 90% of the cases of chickenpox were encountered in children aged less than 10. Every year, 10% of those between 5 and 9 years old and 2% of those aged 10 to 14 develop chickenpox every year. All these percents will decrease in a few years, when the young vaccinated children will get older.

It seems that the disease appears in late winter and early spring months and is transmitted through saliva, sneezing and coughing. Generally towels, bed sheets, and clothes are not responsible for the transmission of the disease.

The spreading of the disease is possible within two days before the spots appear on skin and the end of the blister stage. This means five to seven days of possible contamination. After the dry scabs form the rate of contamination decreases. Therefore, it is best to keep away your child from any contacts, including from going to school, for about 10 days.

Once your child has had chickenpox he is exposed to shingles too for the rest of his life. 10 to 20% of those who have had chickenpox will suffer from shingles later. In US, 600,000 to 850,000 people develop shingles every year and the number of affected people is increasing every year.

]]>

It seems that the risk of getting shingles (herpes zoster) is increasing with the age. More rarely, children can get herpes zoster too. 5% of those aged under 15 have developed shingles. It seems that this happens if the child has a weakened immune system or if he had chickenpox before he was one years old.

The risk of developing shingles is increased for those who have problems with their immune system like those who have AIDS, cancer, diabetes. Those who follow a treatment for AIDS containing protease inhibitors are also exposed to shingles. 15% of those who have Hodgkin’s disease, lymphomas and other cancers and are following chemotherapy are at risk of having shingles. Drugs called immunosuppressant are exposing patients to herpes zoster and other infections too. These drugs are: Azathioprine (Imuran), Chlorambucil, Cyclophosphamide, Cyclosporine, and Cladribine. These drugs are generally used in those who have suffered an organ transplant but they can also be used in treating systemic lupus erythematosus, Crohn’s disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis.

Only those who have a good immune system response and those who have been vaccinated against chickenpox and shingles are spared from developing them

Need Pain Relief for Phn?

Need Pain Relief for Phn?

Scientists have not found a treatment that prevents all patients with shingles from developing PHN. However, there are several treatments that some think migh reduce the chances of developing PHN but the evidence as of this date is suspect and difficult to prove given the different PHN responses by patient to an outbreak of shingles.

People who continue to feel pain long after the rash and blisters heal are experiencing a pain called postherpetic neuralgia which basically is damage to their nerve fibers caused by a reactivation of the varicella zoster virus. Nerve fibers essentially send messages from the skin to the brain. Damaged Nerve fibers due to shingles are not able to send messages to the spinal cord as they normally do and it is believed that the body may perceive these “mixed messages” as pain signals.

Age and PHN are related. Older people are more susceptible to PHN. PHN usually does not develop in people under age 50. Over 40% of patients with shingles age 60 or older develop PHN. After the shingles rash has healed, 75% of people over age 70 have pain at 1 month, and 50% still have pain after 1 year.

During an outbreak of shingles, other risk factors for the development of PHN
include:

>Greater pain severity
>Greater rash severity
>Sensory impairment (problems with feeling touch) in the affected skin
>Painful period before the shingles rash appears
>The trigeminal nerve (a nerve in the face) is affected

Treatments for postherpetic neuralgia depends on the type of phn pain you experience. Generally for~post herpetic neuralgia these include:

> Antidepressants
> Drugs that inhibit the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin
> Certain anticonvulsants
> Injected steroids
> Painkillers
> Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS)
> Spinal cord or peripheral nerve stimulation.
> Lidocaine skin patches

There are even some alternate remedies that have been tried by those suffering from PHN such as hypnosis, acupuncture, diluted apple cider vinegar, colustrum and vitamin B5.

Two highly effective alternative medicine treatments for PHN pain are Menastil and EZ Pain Relief. Both are non-narcotic, non-addictive topical solutions that effectively penetrate the skin. Their active ingredients reach the inflamed area to cause the nerve ends to relax and allow the blood and oxygen to flow back into the painful area to effectively cutoff the pain signal to the spinal cord and therefore to the brain. You still have the PHN condition, since these products are not cures, but you will feel substantially less pain with the use of either of these products.

Although some people will live with postherpetic neuralgia the rest of their lives, most people can expect the condition to gradually disappear during the first three months. For about 10 percent to 20 percent of people with postherpetic neuralgia, the pain may persist for a year or more.

If you have PHN or know someone who does, The Centre for Pain Relief has several products, including Menastil & EZ Pain Relief, for the relief of PHN. Go to… PHN for a complete product review and to purchase these PHN pain relief products or Go to…

Your Questions About Shingles

David asks…

what do you have when you have recurrence of shingles or herpes zoster?

admin answers:

That what we call post herpetic neuralgia, it is primerally a disease of the nerve root pain, so if you have pain without skin erruption then your doctor will prescripe a drug like Carbamazepine or Gabapentin to relief the nerve pain, but if there are erruptions then a topical antiviral must be added

Sandy asks…

is there any cure for Shingles (Herpes Zoster) and is there any kind of medication for it?

admin answers:

Well the truth is there is no such a cure? Like 4 years I got it, I had like a pimple in my face near the head line, I saw it get bigger and developed like a rash, i really didnt knew what was it, but as the days went by my face started to hurt so badly I cried, so I went to the DR and he told me you got herpes zoster, I sais WHAT!!!!!! Oh no my lord I have herpes how come????? He ask me if I have had chicken pox, I sad yes when I was 14 years( now im 33) he said the chicken pox leaves a virus in your nerves. This virus stays asleep. Not everyone gets the zoster thing , but after a couple of years it can wake up by stress, weak inmune sistem, sickness & age . Its rarelly that this episodes happen twice. (that what my doc said) I hope I never get an episode again it hurts a lot and the recuperation is not to fast, after the rash goes out you may feel the hurt till a couple of days or weeks more. So please visit a doctor very fast , so they can prescribe you a medicine I dont remember which one they gave me but it worked, also you can put ice in the area so it helps with the pain. Also take vitamin c and maybe he will recommend other vitamins. Hope you feel better.

George asks…

Hi! My roommate, Peej, has herpes zoster or shingles!!! What should I do to protect myself?

admin answers:

Shingles IS herpes zoster. If your roommate has shingles, you can’t get shingles, only the chickenpox. Have you already had the chickenpox or been vaccinated?

If you already have you shouldn’t have reason to be that concerned. Simply stay away from him while the rash is blistered. You would have to come in direct contact with the rash to be exposed to the virus. I’m sure you can easily avoid that, there is no reason to panic.

Carol asks…

shingles(herpes zoster) on tongue?

i have shingles on the left side of my face and i think i have some on my tongue. the medicine that the dermotologist prescribed is working on my face but my tongue is still REALLY painful. i dont see my doctor again until next week, what can i do for the pain on my tongue?

admin answers:

You need to check back with your doctor. If the shingles has spread to your mouth, you are going to need to be watched more carefully to ensure your airway doesn’t become affected.

The doctor can also give you medicine for pain.

Charles asks…

WHAT ARE THE ADVERSE REACTIONS TO ZOSTAVAX VACCINATIONS. THIS IS USED TO PREVENT SHINGLES (herpes zoster)?

admin answers:

What are the risks from shingles vaccine?
A vaccine, like any medicine, could possibly cause serious problems, such as severe allergic reactions. However, the risk of a vaccine causing serious harm, or death, is extremely small. No serious problems have been identified with shingles vaccine. Like all vaccines, shingles vaccine is being closely monitored for unusual or severe problems.
Mild Problems:
* Redness, soreness, swelling, or itching at the site of the injection (about 1 person in 3).
* Headache (about 1 person in 70).
What if there is a moderate or severe reaction?
What should I look for?
* Any unusual condition, such as a high fever or behavior changes. Signs of a serious allergic reaction can include difficulty breathing, hoarseness or wheezing, hives, paleness, weakness, a fast heart beat or dizziness. These usually occur within the first few hours after vaccination.
What should I do?
* Call a doctor, or get the person to a doctor right away.
* Tell your doctor what happened, the date and time it happened, and when the vaccination was given.
* Ask your health care provider to file a Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) form if you have any reaction to the vaccine. Or call VAERS yourself at 1-800-822-7967, or visit their website at http://vaers.hhs.gov.
The National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program
In the rare event that you or your child has a serious reaction to a vaccine, a federal program has been created to help pay for the care of those who have been harmed.
For details about the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, call 1-800-338-2382 or visit the program’s website at http://www.hrsa.gov/vaccinecompensation.
How can I learn more?
* Ask your doctor or other health care provider. They can give you the vaccine package insert or suggest other sources of information.
* Call your local or state health department’s immunization program.
* Contact the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): call 1-800-232-4636 (1-800-CDC-INFO) or visit the National Immunization Program’s website at http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines
Please see the web pages for more details on Zostavax.

The Many Uses of Tea Tree Oil

The Many Uses of Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil has been growing in popularity since the 1970’s, but was discovered for its powerful antiseptic, antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral properties in the 1920’s. Tea tree oil is an essential oil that is extracted from the tea tree plant also known as Melaleuca Alternifolia. An oil is said to be essential when the extraction bears the scent or essence of the plant. Tea tree oil is clear with a hint of yellow and has a strong, medical scent, due to its chemical compounds terpineol, cineol, pinene, and terpinene. Initially used in aromatherapy and naturopathic medicine, tea tree oil is now being use in all sorts of medical and home applications.

The tea tree plant is naturally occurring in Australia and New South Wales. The indigenous people of Australia used it for traditional medicinal practices such as treating the cold, cough, wounds, sore throats and skin problems. This early use of the tea tree and its components is the beginning of the understanding of all the healing qualities that tea tree oil has to offer. Tea tree oil is very beneficial for medical purposes when applied topically, but toxic if ingested internally. If ingested tea tree oil can cause confusion, drowsiness, hallucinations, coma, unsteadiness, weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, upset stomach, and rashes. Therefore tea tree oil is used topically in a diluted saturation or mixed with other oils, herbs, lotions, or creams. If not diluted before use, some skin irritation can occur to people with sensitive skin and a small portion of people have allergic reactions to the oil.

Tea tree oil has been known to treat several different types of skin conditions by reducing inflammation, stimulating the immune system and healing wounds. It has a soothing affect on itchy, oily, and burning skin and open wounds. Tea tree oil can also treat several diseases and conditions due to its antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, analgesic and antiseptic characteristics. Some diseases that tea tree oil can alleviate include arthritis, asthma, athletes foot, bladder infections, bronchitis, chicken pox, herpes, cold sores, dermatitis, diabetic gangrene, earaches, earlobe cysts, ear infections, eczema, laryngitis, ulcers, nail fungus, plantar warts, rheumatism, ringworm, sinusitis, and toothaches. In addition some conditions that tea tree oil can cure include acne, bad breath, blisters, boils, inflammation, bruises, burns, dry hair, itchy scalp, oily hair, jock itch, muscle aches, and dandruff. Even though there are traditional medical treatments for most if not all of these diseases or conditions, tea tree oil has been proven comparable if not more effective than these treatments.

As an antibacterial, tea tree oil has been found effective against the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus. Topical tea tree oil has been shown to be more effective than conventional antibiotics for preventing transmission of CA-MRSA. As an antifungal, tea tree oil is effective in fighting dermatophytes found on the skin. Additionally if added to shampoo tea tree oil can cure dandruff by treating Malassezia furfur. It also can cure head lice and scabies and is more effective than permethrin and commercial medications. Tea tree oil is also successful at killing Candida the infection that causes yeast overgrowth. As an antiviral tea tree oil has shown success at treating the herpes virus and their cold sores, chicken pox, shingles, blisters and eczema. Tea tree oil has been shown to be equivalent to benzoyl peroxide the most common treatment for acne. Tea tree oil boosts one’s natural immune system and heals wounds by enhancing scar tissue formation.

In addition to its topical use on the skin, tea tree oil can be used in alternative medicines such as massage therapy and aromatherapy, as a household cleaner and as a pesticide. In aromatherapy, tea tree oil purifies the air and creates a relaxing and calming atmosphere. Tea tree oil is used topically in massage therapy. It can relax deep layers of tissues and muscles. Tea tree oil can be used in the household as an all-purpose cleaner, but it can also be used in the dishwasher, washing machine, humidifier, and deodorizer. Tea tree oil can enhance mood, memory and energy. As a pesticide tea tree oil can kill blood-sucking insects such as mosquitoes and sand flies on contact. However for other insects it does not act as a repellent but is toxic if they ingest it.

There are so many practical and medicinal uses for tea tree oil. It is an all in one first aid remedy that everyone should keep around the house. Whether you use it in a diluted solution or mix if with shampoo, conditioner, lotion or other oils, it can cure and treat almost all of the common and not so common ailments.
