Your Questions About Shingles

Chickenpox 8 month old

What are the early signs of chickenpox in an 8 month old. My son has been around dad who had shingles. I looked at his body and found a rash here and there. I know it’s not deadly but what does the rash look like and how does it start. My son is acting fine too. Just weird bumps i’m finding. Is it Chicken Pox?

Stone town?

I always have my dreams in the same town. Its completely made of grey stone. All of the buildings have green tile shingles and the town is filled with stairs, bridges, and dark alleys. There’s a river running straight through the town and it forms a pond near the town’s edge. There is a spotless green steam train that I once arrived by. Sometimes the streets are bustling and lit with neon signs, while other times they are empty and dry. Either way, the streets and buildings are always immaculate. In one dream, the town was ruled by a tyrannical government and I was part of a rebel group (though I ended up blowing up my friend).

Any ideas on the meaning of this recurring (but always changing) town?

Abnormal period?

My period is always regular. Same day every month, moderate bleeding, lasts the same amount of days – just normal.
This month, I basically had a period 1/2 way through my cycle. Lasted 3 days I think, was fairly heavy and mostly brown.
Now, I’ve started my regular period – 3 days early and it is very, very dark brown (almost black), weird texture(??) – jelly like I guess, and quite heavy.
I’ve been under a lot of stress lately so maybe it could be that – but I get shingles when I’m stressed and haven’t had any signs of them.
Just wondering if I need to go to the hospital/doctor – it’s kind of a hassle.
I was sexually active (we broke up at the beginning of Feb) but my boyfriend wore condoms and I’m on the pill

Does anyone have any experience with the companies that will re-shingle your roof for a discounted rate?

Our older house needs to be re-shingled. I’ve seen ads in our local newspaper that say the company is looking for 10 (or how ever many) homeowners to re-shingle their house using their shingles at a discounted rate. All they want in return is to have a sign on your lawn stating that you used their shingles.
I’m wondering if they do offer much of a discount and if it is worth it. Or should I just use regular shingles and get our carpenter to do the work?

Why does my roof leak sometimes and not other times?

After moving into a new, fixer upper house, I had a roof leak on my asphalt shingled roof before we even go there. I went up there and looked for signs of leakage and saw where someone in the past had used regular nails to nail down some of the shingles around a vent. I patched it with roof caulking. The roof then only leaked during heavier rains. I then went really crazy with some Henry 505 flashing cement in probably a 10 sq. foot area. The leaks stopped…for awhile. Suddenly, it leaked again but not much. Fortunately, I had still not repaired the ceiling until I knew for sure if it would leak. Now, after about 2 leaks after heavy rains, the other night it rained and stormed almost all night long and I am perplexed because this time it did not leak a drop. It picks and chooses when it wants to leak. Does anyone have a clue as to what is going on? Thanks.
